When our Marketing Director, Cady, was uploading the video, it got me thinking about where videos should be uploaded, along with strategies for excellent keyword tagging. Having strong keywords is important because you want to show up with related videos, on several different search queries, and in universal search.

100903HappyDays1 Google Search Plus Your World Needs a Quality RaterJanuary 10, 2012 will go down in history as the day that Google “Jumped the Shark”.  In introducing it’s new “Search Plus Your World” search results it ignored the very thing that made them the world’s best search engine – RELEVANCE.  Personalized results are now integrated into the new “Search Plus My World” results into Google Search Results as the default results.

Personalization based on a searchers previous search behavior generally improves search relevance and improves search results.  But, personalization based on my Google Plus Connections is for the most part ridiculous and irrelevant.

Google Indexes AJAX and Javascript Comments

If you use the Facebook Comment Box for your website, your readers’ content may now affect your Google PageRank. This is big news because Google is indexing the AJAX or JavaScript code on your website, which previously wasn’t picked up by search engines. SEOs may reconsider their earlier advice to avoid these services as indexed comments will provide fresh content appeasing Google’s algorithm changes, such as query deserves freshness (QDF).
