Are You Mobile? Using Enhanced Campaigns to Optimize Ads for Mobile

<< by Scott Garrett on April 17th, 2013

Enhanced campaigns for Google Adwords were introduced just over two months ago now, and are Google’s answer to the increase in searchers using mobile devices to search for products and services online.

Why Advertise on Mobile?

With the increase in searchers using mobile devices, it has become clear that businesses need to adapt their online strategy. Businesses should commit more of their resources to mobile advertising; specifically pay-per-click search advertising or they will lose out in reaching their target market in the ever changing world of online advertising.

Google is continuing to add new features to entice advertisers to make the switch to enhanced campaigns sooner rather than later. The new enhanced campaigns have been met with varied reactions, but advertisers would be smart to adapt to enhanced campaigns soon, as Google will begin to automatically upgrading all Adwords campaigns to enhanced campaigns starting on July 22th.

Two Is Better Than One: Importing AdWords Campaigns into Bing

<< by Blaine Anderson on March 28th, 2013

“Two is better than one.”

That seems to be the common logic these days. And it’s true…to an extent. If you’re the one simply enjoying the benefits of those two Somethings, then great! But what if you’re the person responsible for creating those two Somethings? Or what if having two of those Somethings causes some type of pain or stress?

Increase In-Store Sales with New AdWords Offer Extensions

<< by Sarah Bonner on March 26th, 2013

Google AdWords has introduced another exciting product in the long line of updates coming with the new Enhanced Campaigns rollout. One of the new, potentially phenomenal, features currently in a limited release is Offer Extensions. Offer Extensions allow businesses to add a promotion or offer at the end of their AdWords ads. Customers will click on the offer and be taken to a Google hosted landing page where they can either print the coupon or save it for later in Google Offers. Here’s what it will look like:

Google Offer Extensions Increase In Store Sales with New AdWords Offer Extensions

Cost & Benefits

Costs for Offer Extensions are the same as traditional clicks, so advertisers can look to Offers for a low-cost way to spread the word about certain promotions or sales. This could be potential competition for the likes of Groupon and LivingSocial, who have high cost for businesses as they take a large percentage of the revenue made with their deals. Offer Extensions provides simple, low cost alternative that could drive traffic, as Google so often reminds us, of people who are actually looking for related products. If advertisers start using Offer Extensions on a mass scale, it could be huge for businesses and customers!

I will be the first to admit it – Bing and I don’t always get along. But despite our quarrels, Bing has always held a special place in my heart (as demonstrated in this year’s Bing-nerd Halloween costume to the right). I don’t know if it is because they are the search engine underdog,..or if they won me over simply with their ability to consistently pick awesome background photos for bing.com.

Whatever the case, if 1965 taught us anything, its that what the world needs is LOVE, sweet love. So I would like to take this opportunity to change the conversation up a bit and highlight some reasons why, when it’s all said and done, you may be missing out by not taking advantage of Bing’s advertising platform.
