Last week I got the opportunity to visit the one and only Googleplex in Mountain View, California. Needless to say it was an experience that I will never forget and I just had to share it with everyone! Before I get into the details, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Google for taking the time to give my team and I a personal tour of their headquarters and showing us a day in the life of a Googler.
Googlers definitely know how to work hard and play hard, and you get that vibe as soon as you step foot onto the Googleplex campus. Google employees work hard every day to not only bring innovative ideas to the table, but to also bring those ideas to life. In return, Google keeps their employees happy with the many benefits they have to offer. We all already know Google works hard, so I am going to touch more on how they play hard!
As soon as we turned onto the Googleplex campus, I knew we were in for a treat as I saw employees riding colorful Googlebikes around campus. Googlebikes are a fun and
Not to mention, you might need a little bike ride here and there after visiting one of the many Google Cafeterias. I must say, the food on the Googleplex campus is delicious and it’s all free! Google provides their employees with free breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. And if that wasn’t enough, they have micro kitchens with a variety of snacks and drinks scattered throughout the buildings. Googlers are never more than 150 feet from drinks and snacks!
If you are tired and just need a break, that’s not a problem at Google. Employees can kick back and relax on some beanbag chairs or take a nap in one of the sleeping pods. Employees may also choose to go outside and play a pick-up game of volleyball or go for a swim in Google’s resistance pool. Or if employees want to get in a workout session after work, they are in luck because there is a gym right on site. Employees may also walk down the hall and get a massage from Google’s own massage center! The list of amenities and benefits that Google provides for their employees goes on and on . . . and on, but I just wanted to share a few to give you a taste of the infamous Googleplex!
We know Google knows how to play hard, but how does your company play hard?
