MSN adCenter Now Offers a Search Query Performance Report!
November 10th, 2009 by Amanda ChaneyOver the weekend, MSN adCenter appears to have gotten a facelift. MSN adCenter has implemented their Fall 2009 Upgrade. The overall appearance has changed slightly, but there are a few major changes that will affect the way you optimize your account. The main one being the new reporting feature: the Search Query Performance Report.
If you haven’t discovered it already, pay a visit to the Reporting Tab in the MSN adCenter interface. You will see a new option, the Search Query Performance Report. Those of you who use Google AdWords are probably very familiar with the Search Query Report, and rely heavily on it to build out your keyword lists and also your negative keywords. It’s a great tool to help you optimize your Campaigns. Now, as I have said in the past, adCenter is taking a more proactive approach to improving their interface. With every update, the interface is becoming easier to use for advertisers.

Since this report was just released, data will only be available going forward; you won’t be able to run a report for last week, or last month. When setting up your report, you have the option of customizing the columns that will be included (see image below), as well as manipulating how you’d like the report to be sorted. Once the report runs, you will notice the report will open as existing reports, and you’ll have the option to download.

Since the report is so new, there isn’t much criticism out there yet. Let me know what you think about the new reporting feature. I know a lot of advertisers will be running these reports in the coming weeks, hoping to get more insight into exactly how they are spending their money. Thanks, MSN!
