Google Custom Search enables website owners to add Google-powered search boxes to their sites. This update allows the results to be formatted to fit on mobile screens. If you would like to take advantage of this new mobile feature, you can choose to either have the Custom Search engine results embedded into your site, or Google can host the results page for you. If you decide to host the results yourself, Google will still create a Google-hosted home page for every engine they create. According to Google, users will see “pocket-sized Custom Search results, along with your search engine customizations, like your labels and promotions.” All you have to do is redirect users to the Custom Search home page. With so many people turning to their mobile devices to search these days, Google is meeting the demand with continual updates. With these updates allowing for more pleasant search sessions, even more people will continue to utilize their phones for search. The latest update is allowing Custom Search results for websites to be formatted for mobile devices… What could be next?
